Mora Italian

Details: Mora Italian opened earlier this year in what has been dubbed Phoenix’s bustling Seventh Street Stretch. Located just south of Bethany Home on the east side of Seventh Street. Per Mora’s website they are “a modern take on the neighborhood eateries found throughout Italy, Mora blends a stylish and tailored aesthetic with relaxed and communal vibes in an expansive dining room, bustling bar, and street-side patio.” Owned by world renowned Chef and “Chopped” guest judge Scott Conant, Mora Italian is a welcome addition to the Valley’s up and coming dining scene and one of the best new restaurants in Phoenix.

El Panzon y Frida

Details: El Panzón y Frida is located in Old Town Scottsdale’s Entertainment District. But please don’t let the location fool you. El Panzón y Frida is a fantastic new restaurant in Scottsdale that is playing ZERO games. Upon walking inside the food forward, fresh and local concept you will find an atmosphere that is unique and welcoming. Pair that with a menu that could be described the same way. Their menu is “seasonally rotated, based on the ‘Autor’ style; International cuisine by the Chef’s design.” A visit to El Panzón y Frida is an experience that is best shared with friends & family. You will enjoy exploring the seasonal menu as well as the seasonal cocktail selections and wines rotated by region, to match the current whims of the Chef. Their craft beer selection also changes with the season, reflecting their vibrant experience and atmosphere.

Modern Market

Details: Modern Market was created when two friends noticed something interesting. They noticed that when you eat great food, you felt good. Upon noticing that, they set out to create a restaurant that has great healthy food that tastes great and most importantly makes you feel good. Not only that, but it is fast and convenient. But don’t let the speed fool you, the food comes out fresh and delicious. Check out one of their soon to be three Valley locations.

Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row (Gilbert)

Details: This is the third location to open in Arizona, and they did it right, and they did it big with their new Gilbert location. With a massive patio that takes up about half of the restaurant’s space, there is plenty of room for activities. Cornhole, ping-pong, dance offs, you name it! Paired with their underrated expanded food menu will be a dedicated stage for live music on the weekends. This new Whiskey Row is a welcome addition to the ever-expanding Gilbert downtown area. Also, did we mention that along with their wine & cocktails they will have over 50 beers on tap!

Ladera Taverna y Cocina

Details: Located in North Central Phoenix on Central Avenue just south of Dunlap Avenue. Walking up to Ladera you will immediately notice the beautiful entryway. Then upon entering Ladera, you are greeted with an open air patio as well as a lovely intimate dining room and bar area. You can tell that a lot thought was put into the details of the restaurant’s design. Once you are seated and start to peruse the menu. You will notice that just as much thought was put into both the drink and food menu items. Also, the Churros alone would put them on any best new restaurants in Phoenix list!

The Smith Cafe (Arcadia)

Details: Any restaurant with my namesake has to be on the list! The Smith Cafe opened early March in the Gaslight Square just east of 36th Street and Indian School Road. Open 7 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. The Smith specializes in your traditional breakfast and lunchtime fare as well as some more exotic menu items. Be sure to check out their full menu. The owners are from Australia so you can definitely see some unique elements that set them apart from other restaurants. They also utilize many locally sourced ingredients that make The Smith Cafe a must visit for your next breakfast, brunch or lunch to see why they are one of the best new restaurants in Phoenix!

Hearth ’61 at Mountain Shadows

Details: Located in the Town of Paradise Valley on Lincoln Drive near 56th Street. Executive Chef Charles Wiley and his team have created a menu offering ingredient-driven American cuisine made with time-honored flavor pairings. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu will constantly be evolving with a daily featured hearth-roast. One unique thing to note, hearth-roasted dishes stay in the same vessel from oven to table. Therefore they come out hot and mouth-wateringly delicious. Highly recommend the Branzino! Hearth ’61’s creativeness does not stop with the food. They will also feature an innovative and ingredient-driven cocktail program as well as local beer & wine offerings.
