Glendale

Glendale, AZ, is a city that is located in the Northwestern part of the greater metropolitan Phoenix. Glendale is located roughly nine miles away from downtown Phoenix. Glendale is known as one of the most vibrant and livable parts of the Valley of The Sun. One of the main reasons that Glendale is enjoying such explosive growth is that it is a vibrant cultural and sports center. Glendale might even be considered the most sports-centric part of the metro Phoenix area due to the fact that it is home to two major sports venues. These venues are known as the University of Phoenix Stadium and Gila River Arena.

The University of Phoenix Stadium is home to the representative NFL team of the entire stare: the Arizona Cardinals. This sports stadium also hosts the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl every year and used to host the now-defunct BCS National Championship every four years for NCAA college football. The nearby Gila River Arena is also the home to the state’s NHL team: the Arizona Coyotes. On top of these venues, the Camelback Ranch-Glendale baseball complex is home to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox for their MLB spring training programs.

However, sports is not the only thing Glendale has to offer. Higher-level education is offered throughout the city. Arizona State University keeps its West campus and its Thunderbird School of Global Management within the Glendale borders. Midwestern University, which is a graduate school for a variety of medical specialties, and both of the Glendale Community College campuses are both also located in Glendale.
